The Spirit of Dance Comes To Town

This spring, the beauty of movement comes to Southwestern Ontario. The spirit of dance has been flourishing as many new and talented dance troupes pass through the area to display their skills. The fan base continues to strengthen and grow as more unique and innovative groups like RUBBERBANDance Group and Les 7 Doigts de la Main take the stage.
Like Centre In The Square, River Run Centre in Guelph has been developing a following for contemporary dance pieces. This March they will feature two performances that will blow you away with their strength and creativity. On Friday, March 28, RUBBERBANDance Group who is known for its creative risk taking, innovative choreography, and melding of technical expertise and dance prowess with youth inspired movements like hip-hop with perform their piece Empirical Quotient.
That same weekend, on Saturday, March 29, Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie’s Dichterliebe: The Poet’s Love will display a breathtaking piece that will bring together the art of dance with the musicality of a pianist and baritone. This singularly unique performance inspired by Schumann’s song cycle Dichterliebe, in which the 16 songs are choreographed by artists across a variety of disciplines will prove the group’s unapologetic and unique vision.
As spring rounds the corner, there is no better time to refresh your body and spirit with the art of dance. For more information about these shows or to purchase tickets, check out riverrun.ca.
