Led Zeppelin II: An Affair Of The Heart

In a recent Rolling Stone interview, lead guitarist and songwriter Jimmy Page says that everything Led Zeppelin did, including the band itself was “an affair of the heart.”
And it shows in the music. A follow up to the wildly popular Led Zeppelin, the band’s second album Led Zeppelin II was an even a bigger hit, launching the band as the new ‘It’ rock band of the late 60’s. With elements of blues and folk music, this album has been cited by music writers as a blueprint for heavy metal bands that followed it.
Blues-derived songs like “Whole Lotta Love”, “Heartbreaker”, “The Lemon Song”, “Moby Dick”, and “Bring It On Home” have been seen as representing standards of the genre. The record is generally considered to be very influential on the development of rock music, being an early forerunner of heavy metal.
Now you can hear this iconic album recreated live on November 14 when Classic Albums Live performs – note for note, cut for cut.
