Weekend Arts Around Town (February 27-March 1)

Don’t know what to do this weekend? We’ve got a few ideas:
Friday, February 27 @ 6PM
DINING IN THE DARK
Whistle Bear Golf Club
Join DeafBlind Ontario Services for a sensory dining experience like no other that will fire up the imagination and stimulate the senses. The complete loss of vision heightens the other four senses making Dining in the Dark an extraordinary culinary adventure. There will be live entertainment, silent auction and raffles to round out a memorable event, leaving guests with a better understanding of what it’s like to have a sensory impairment.
February 27-28
FRANKENSTEIN & A DEAD QUEEN TELLS NO LIES
The Registry Theatre
Presented by ActOut KW, this double-billing features the classic tale of Victor Frankenstein in a highly theatrical and emotional play. In A Dead Queen Tells No Lies, watch all of Henry VIII’s infamous wives in a room together attempting to work out some centuries-long grudges in a post-mortem therapy session.
February 28-March 1
THE SLEEPING PRINCE WITH CLEVER CRONE PUPPETS (pictured above)
WK Mennonite Church
The Clever Crones, Baptiste Neis and Kristi Friday present a world premiere of The Sleeping Prince with the Waterloo Chamber Players, and conductor Ben Bolt-Martin. The event will also feature selections from The Mother Goose Suite and “Evening Prayer” from Hansel and Gretel.
Sunday, March 1 @ 1PM
FAMILY SUNDAYS
Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery
Share creative time with friends and family exploring the world of art and creativity.  Enjoy the exhibitions and make one-of-a-kind artwork of your own, take part in drama workshops and interactive games, and listen to stories told by their friends at the Kitchener Public Library.
