Ayrad explores myriad musical styles, shifting from Andalusian and Berber rhythms to Reggae, Raï and Latin grooves. Formed by Hamza Abouabdelmajid and oboist Annick Beauvais, Ayrad is now a collective made up of six talented multi-instrumentalists – all masters of world music cross-pollination. In addition to creating their own compositions, the group breathes new life into pieces drawn from Maghrebian, Arab-Andalusian and Moroccan-Jewish repertoires.

EXPRESSIONS 40 – OUR STORIES & IN|SIGHT
Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery
For the 40th anniversary of the Gallery’s annual exhibition of student artwork, Expressions 40 celebrates the artistic expression given to the stories told by the youth in the Waterloo Region. Featuring artwork by students in Junior Kindergarten through grade twelve, the exhibition also includes a selection of works from the Gallery’s Permanent Collection to highlight the exhibition’s theme, Our Stories.
