The family programming in The Studio is a great way to spend your Saturday, with packed shows that are original and imaginative and incorporate theatre, dance, puppetry and humour. After two successful years, The Centre is pleased to bring you another great line up of shows for the 15-16 year.
We start off with the Juno Award nominated Splash’N Boots on November 28. The musical duo Nick Adams (Splash) and Taes Leavitt (Boots) love to make new friends all over the world by jumping, dancing and singing onstage and onscreen – and they can’t wait to share it with you!
Back by popular demand, Le Théâtre des Petites Âmes will be here in Kitchener on January 23 with OGO, a show where friendship, fun and imagination fill time.
On February 20, Jamie Adkins will be at The Studio with his newest creation, Circus Incognitus. An expert at comedy born of desperation, virtuoso clown Jamie Adkins deftly escorts the audience along his poetic journey with sidesplitting wit.
Tall Stories will be back on March 19 with another crowd-pleaser, Room on The Broom (pictured above). Based on the best-selling book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler (who also wrote Gruffalo’s Child), this show will take the audience aboard a magnificent broom for an unforgettable adventure!
After the success of Manxmouse, Theatregroep Kwatta will be back on April 16 with Love That Dog. Based on the Sharon Creech novel, Love That Dog shows how one boy finds his own voice with the help of a teacher, a writer, a pencil, some yellow paper, and of course, a dog.
On April 30, experience the story behind the most misunderstood character in fairytale history with Big Bad Wolf. Featuring many of our favourite fairytale characters, this hilarious, table-turning tale will have you wondering why you were so scared in the first place.
Tickets to all these great shows will go on sale on June 1. Become a CentreStage member and get exclusive access to these shows and more on May 19. Act fast, the family programming has sold out two years in a row!
