Hey Rosetta! hails from the rocky and cold northeastern province of Newfoundland, Canada and after ten years together, the band blossomed into a powerful group whose explosive live shows have earned them a devoted following.
Hey Rosetta! has gone through many stages of musical development.  It was during their first album Into Your Lungs that singer, songwriter Tim Baker began to fully realize his vocal and lyrical abilities, and the band made a huge creative leap forward. The band’s second album Seeds reveals a maturing lyrical depth and an atmosphere rooted to the band’s passion for epic musical experiences. Nearly four years after Seeds, Hey Rosetta! came out with Second Sight. It was during this album that the now seven-member band experimented with their sound even further and expanded their sonic horizons and shifted more into musical textures.
We spoke with Hey Rosetta!’s bass guitarist Josh Ward to get the inside scoop on the band. Ward told us that Hey Rosetta! recently celebrated their 10 year anniversary with a show in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Josh Ward has been with the band since the beginning and said it’s really cool to look back and see where they started and where they are now. “We have grown together as a band as people, performers and an ensemble” says Ward.
 Hey Rosetta! makes their Centre debut November 17 in a special general admission, stand up OnStage concert. Ward says fans can expect to hear hits from Second Sight, as well as crowd favourites from their two previous albums. The band will also be joined by very special guests Yukon Blonde. When asked about touring with Yukon Blonde Ward said, “We did a short little run years and years ago and we really hit it off – they’re really great guys. We get along really well with them and we love their new music so it seems like a perfect match and we’re all pretty excited about it.”
 When asked what it means to be a Canadian musician and a Canadian band Ward lit up and said, “We’re pretty lucky as Canadians because there’s a great support system. Over the years Canada’s music scene and artist reputation have really developed and there is a lot of respect for Canadian bands and a very strong cultural identity. I’ve always felt a lot of support from different bands and musicians. It’s not a cut-throat environment at all.”
