Weekend Arts Around Town (March 4 – 6)

Don’t know what to do this weekend? We’ve got a few ideas:
March 4 @ 9:00PM
Lipsync Showdown
Chainsaw, Waterloo
Participate in a Lipsync Showdown presented by Conestoga College’s Management Program!  Take the stage as a solo artist, or create your own boy/girl band with a chance to win a cash prize.  Tickets for this fun event are only $3 if purchased in advance and $5 at the door.  The competition will run from 9:30PM to 11:00PM.  Must be 19 years or older to participate.
March 5 @ 9:00AM
Sisters of Fire – Blacksmithing for Women
Waterloo Region Museum
As we recognize and celebrate International Women’s day on March 8, the Waterloo Region Museum is proudly hosting a Sisters of Fire blacksmithing event.  For women interested in trying their hand at the craft, come out to enjoy a day of speakers, presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on activities!  Also join local blacksmith sisters Sandra Dunn, Meagan Carter and Lydia Vanderstall.  Regular admission $5 plus HST.  Monetary donations to be provided to a local women’s shelter.  Participants welcome to bring lunch or purchase at the museum. Must be 16 years or older.
March 6 @ 11:00AM
Spring Craft Show
Schwaben Club, Kitchener
Bounce into the spring season while discovering a wide variety of hand-made crafts from woodworking to knitted items!  A goulash lunch will be available from 12PM-2PM.  Free Easter photos courtesy of Pokey’s Pix.  Admission FREE with a donation to the Food Bank of Waterloo Region.
