The hottest indie festival of the summer will be in your backyard on Saturday, June 25! Centre In The Square is partnering with KOI Music Festival to bring you a day-long event showcasing 14 local and award-winning international acts on the property around the Performing Arts Theatre. This festival is a very exciting and promising way for both organizations to pursue their goal of presenting local talent and building the music scene in Kitchener-Waterloo. Get your friends together, hear your favourite bands and support awesome local artists!
Why are Centre In The Square and KOI Music Festival partnering for this event?
KOI Music Festival first originated six years ago and in that time has brought many incredible artists to the region including Protest The Hero, Silverstein, Classified and much more. In 2015 many festivals had a challenging year as the festival circuit in Southern Ontario has become extremely competitive and crowded. At the same time, Centre In The Square was looking for more ways connect with the community and to find new opportunities to transform the outdoor space around the theatre into a venue. The Centre has presented KOI Music Festival with the opportunity to collaborate and create a new music festival with KOI Fest roots. From these series of events merged the very exciting new festival, KOI Fest At The Parking Lot!
