Jesse Cook: Beyond Borders Tour
New Album, and Tour From Guitar Virtuoso!
It has been more than 20 years (and 11 Juno Award nominations) since virtuoso guitarist & Composer Jesse Cook’s first studio recording, but since then his legions of fans worldwide have come to know one thing: his music has no boundaries. Any given composition is more than likely to have found its heart and inspiration in Columbia or Turkey, or Egypt, and its rhythm in Brazil, Andalusia or Cuba.
Jesse’s latest album, One World, debuted at #1 on the jazz and world music charts in Canada, and debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart and No. 4 on the World Albums chart in the U.S. The album draws on the sounds and cultural wonders of Turkey as inspiration, and Jesse often finds himself writing through improvisation. Here is a video of Jesse with a guitar and a small looping station; composing/improvising in real-time of which the material often becomes a song on an album.
