Just Who are the PJ Masks?
Preschoolers’ show unmasked itself as mega-popular already in its first season
PJ Masks debuted just two years ago, on September 18, 2015, to an audience of 1.6 million viewers on Disney Channel and Disney Junior. The average audience share was 29% among 2-5-year-olds, as reported by Entertainment One, co-producers of the show. Since then, these three superheroes have grown in popularity faster than the industry can keep up with.
But where did these kid-sized superheroes come from? Although it aired on Disney, the series is based on a popular picture-book series called Les Pyjamasques, written by French author Romuald Racioppo. The TV series follows three six-year-olds, Connor, Amaya, and Greg, who by night are really Catboy, Owelette, and Gekko, respectively. The trio battles some evil-doing evil-doers to help put the world straight again, learning valuable lessons as they go on their adventures.
PJ Masks Live is the superhero stage version of this superhero kids’ show. It runs about 80 minutes and includes a 20-minute intermission. What does that mean to a parent? The show starts at 6PM and finishes around 7.20, in time to get home for 8PM bedtime. (You may just have to keep an eye on your little one, though, in case they, too, start fighting crime by night!)

You can still get tickets for the show, which takes place on Wednesday, October 11, but hurry – they’re flying out the window faster than you can say “PJ Masks!”
