The Shopkins took the world of kids faster than a blow-out sale at a grocery store. Created by Paul Solomon and Moose Toys in Australia, the first collectible characters hit toy store shopping carts in June 2014. The franchise refers to this as Season 1 and the small collectibles were various grocery items.
Season 2 arrived six months later, and included baby, homewares, cleaning & laundry, and shoes items.
Season 9, called Wild Style, was just released in January of this year and includes Shoppies, the first-ever dolls in the franchise.

Unlike the fidget spinner tornado that struck schools last year, it doesn’t look like this mad-dash collectible craze is going to run out anytime soon. Moose Toys collaborated last fall with Clarks, the footwear company, to create two Shopkins-branded Mary Jane shoes: the Bella and the Bluebelle. And young girls can even hide the exclusive toy that comes with each pair in – where else? – a secret compartment in the heel!
Shopkins Live! Shop It Up! is the first live show for the toy. A mix of actors and puppets, it’s colourful, joyful, and spunky for kid fans. The roles of the Shoppies are performed by a cast of talented triple-threat entertainers who energize the stage with their acting, singing and dancing. Fun, funky, funtastic costumes bring the dolls to life in a child’s eyes.
So, who will actually be on stage? Kids and their families will get to see Shoppies Jessicake, Bubbleisha, Peppa-Mint, Rainbow Kate, Cocolette, and Polli Polish! The Shoppies are joined by the Shopkins, including Apple Blossom, Strawberry Kiss, Lippy Lips, Kooky Cookie, Poppy Corn, Slick Breadstick, and Shady Diva. With original music and choreography on top of all that, Shopkins Live! Shop It Up! will delight the young Shopkins fans in your family.
